Dr Eleonora Puccinelli

Born in Italy I have always been passionate about the sea. I undertook my studies in Marine Biology first at the University of Pisa in Italy, and then at Rhodes University in South Africa where I graduated as a PhD student in April 2015.

I am a Marine Ecologist specialized in trophic ecology of coastal intertidal and subtidal areas. My research mainly focuses on understanding the effects of climate change, environmental factors and human activities on trophic dynamics of these ecosystems, and to evaluate possible solutions to these threats.

I am currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Oceanography Department at the University of Cape Town.
